CVCC Foundation
Chattahoochee Valley Community College’s connections are everywhere. Our alumni and friends include city leaders, publishers, professional athletes, and entrepreneurs.
With your gift, students learn. With your support, graduates are made. With your generosity, lives are changed.
The Office of Institutional Advancement builds relationships and raises external funds to support the mission of the College. Institutional Advancement pursues its goals by serving as a liaison between the College and the Foundation Board interacting with the community and the College’s alumni, and coordinating public relations efforts as they relate to fundraising initiatives to include major-gifts campaigns. The ongoing role of Institutional Advancement is friend raising and fundraising for the College.
CVCC Foundation History
The Chattahoochee Valley Community College Foundation (CVCC Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 1985 for the purpose of stimulating voluntary private support from alumni, parents, friends, corporations, foundations, and others for the benefit of CVCC. Since its inception, the Foundation has played a vital role in securing private and public donations, and scholarships to serve the cultural, educational, and financial needs of a diverse student population.
The CVCC Foundation is managed by a board of directors. Each board member serves at least a three-year term. The CVCC Foundation is composed of business and community leaders who are residents of the CVCC service area, which includes the following counties: Russell, Lee, Barbour, Bullock, Macon, and Fort Benning and Columbus, Georgia, and the metropolitan area. These individuals have a strong interest in the College and are committed to using their talents, energy, and influence to generate community support for the College and Foundation.
The CVCC Foundation awards funds each semester to students demonstrating need. The number of applications has increased over the years. The CVCC Foundation voted to increase the amount they were awarding in 2016 by doubling the scholarship budget.
