In accordance with CVCC’s mission, the science department is committed to providing all students with a learner-centered, hands-on laboratory experiences in a small classroom setting. We offer traditional science courses, as well as hybrid, virtual, and online courses.
At CVCC, you can build an excellent foundation for an exciting career in the sciences. The Science Department has four full time faculty members who are dedicated to taking students from where they are academically to where they need to be in the field of science. The science division offers the following courses that meet the AREA III requirement on the statewide transfer guide and can fulfill AREA V pre-professional electives if you are entering a science or STEM career pathway:

- Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II (BIO201 and BIO202)
- Microbiology (BIO220)
- Introduction to Chemistry I and II (CHM104 and CHM105)
- College Chemistry I and II (CHM111 and CHM112)
