Build your career while helping build Alabama!
Our Applied Technology programs prepare students to work in Alabama’s largest employment sector – Manufacturing. Our Applied Technology options include Welding, Industrial Maintenance, Automotive Manufacturing, and HVAC (Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration). We combine class sessions with hands-on learning and on-the-job training to prepare students for the workforce. All program options include paid internships that give students training and experience for employment after graduation. In addition, students earn certifications while earning the Associate of Applied Science degree or certificates. These certifications include:
- Lift Truck Certification – Prepares students to operate lift trucks in a manufacturing environment
- Universal EPA – EPA Refrigeration Technician Certification that enables students to purchase refrigerant.
- OSHA 10 Hour – OSHA-10 course teaches OSHA standards and safety and health hazards common to the workplace.
- MSSC Certification – the leading certifying body for the nation’s front-line manufacturing production and supply chain logistics workers, MSSC’s two certification programs allow students to document their knowledge. MSSC is the only certification organization in the industry that is accredited under ISO 17024.
