Wireless (WiFi) Access at CVCC
For Currently Enrolled Students and Employees
CVCC is proud to offer unlimited WiFi access (with some restrictions) to all currently enrolled students (excluding those only admitted) and employees while on campus. In today’s tech-driven world, reliable internet is essential—and we’re here to support your success.
Prepare Before You Arrive
To ensure a smooth connection experience, we recommend setting up your iOS or Android device before coming to campus.
Why Use AEDU?
By connecting through the Alabama.edu (AEDU) network, you’re ensuring a secure and stable connection from your device to the internet—protecting your data and improving your online experience.
How to Connect Your Device
To join the secure AEDU network, your device will need internet access during the setup process. If you don’t have mobile data or a personal hotspot, you can temporarily connect to our AEDU_Onboarding network when you arrive.
About AEDU_Onboarding:
- Open access (less secure)
- Limited speed and content access
- For initial setup only
Once connected, follow the appropriate instructions below to complete your device setup and switch to the secure AEDU network.
Note: Windows devices do not require internet access for the initial connection.
Connecting Windows Devices to the AEDU Network
Getting your Windows device connected to the AEDU network is quick and easy:
- Click the WiFi icon on your taskbar to view available networks.
- Select the AEDU network from the list.
- When prompted, enter your login credentials:
- Username: Your A#@alabama.edu (e.g., A12345678@alabama.edu)
- Password: The same password you use for your Alabama.edu email and Canvas account.
Once authenticated, your device will be securely connected to the AEDU network.
Connecting iOS Mobile Devices to the AEDU Network
These consist of iPhones and iPad. This process will download a certificate that is verified with your A#@alabama.edu account. Once you download the certificate, you must go to the “VPN & Device Management” under Settings –> General to install.
We have seen some errors that indicate an “SCEP error” and we don’t know what is causing this issue at this time.

Connecting Android Mobile Devices to the AEDU Network
There is a variety of devices out there running Android Mobile. These can be phones or tablets and from a variety of vendors. These devices require that you download the Splashtop NetID app from the store of your choice. You will then authenticate using your A#@alabama.edu and save the AEDU profile to your device.
