WorkKeys
All students who attend GED/HSDO classes have the opportunity to earn two valuable tools that will help them gain important workplace skills and get a job. Students will earn the following credentials:
WorkKeys® assessments measure foundational skills required for success in the workplace, as well as the workplace skills that can improve job performance. WorkKeys assessments are:
- Relevant—WorkKeys® assessments are developed to solve actual workplace problems.
- Recognized—Successful completion of WorkKeys leads to the National Career Readiness Certificate™—which verifies the skills found to be most essential across industries and occupations. Tens of thousands of employers recognize the value of the NCRC!
Assessments are web-based and most take one hour. They are offered in both English and Spanish.
Alabama Career Essentials (ACE) – Formerly Ready to Work
Adult Education at CVCC provides a career pathway for individuals with limited education and employment experience. Alabama Career Essentials (ACE) provides trainees with the entry-level skills required for employment with most businesses and industries in Alabama and Georgia. Training is free for participants.
National Career Readiness Certificate and the Alabama Certified Employee Certificate
Individuals who successfully complete WorkKeys and ACE earn the National Career Readiness Certificate® and the Alabama Certified Employee Certificate, two valuable credentials for job seekers.
