Summer Criminal Justice Exploration Camp – Jul 11 & 12, Cost – $15

The Youth Police Academy is a collaborative effort, a joint venture aimed at creating a positive relationship between the community’s youth and the law enforcement profession. It’s about building bridges and fostering understanding, showing that we are all in this together. Students will learn about Crime Scene Investigation, Dating Violence, Criminal Investigation Career Overview, Handcuffing and Competition, Hiring Process for Police Officers, Jail Operations, K-9 Policing, Patrol Services, Scenario Training and Exercises, SWAT Team, Traffic Safety, and Tactical Situation Response.

Fiber Optics Technician and Installer – Free

This open-enrollment class allows students to complete training at their own pace. Most students can complete the online theory-based portion of the course in as little as 10 hours. After completing the online training, the Workforce Department helps the student register for a two-day skills lab. Training includes splicing, termination, troubleshooting, testing, and more.  REGISTER today!

CPR/BLS – $75

It’s a great day to save a life! This course teaches areas of basic life support including coronary artery disease, heart attack symptoms, adult one-and-two rescuer CPR, first aid for choking, pediatric basic life support, airway adjuncts, EMS system entry access, and automated external defibrillation (AED). Medical Billing – $2,174

This is a 16-week, online course. The CPB Certification Prep Course introduces the student to health insurance and reimbursement. In this course, the student will become familiar with the health insurance industry, legal and regulatory issues, and reimbursement methodologies. The student will learn principles of medical billing related to proper claim form preparation, submission and payment processing, and the follow up process. This course is recommended for anyone who is preparing for a career in a medical billing department at a physician’s office, clinic, or similar positions. This course is strongly recommended for anyone who is preparing for AAPC’s CPB™ certification exam. The prerequisites include knowledge of Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy. Medical Coding – $2,174

This is a 16-week, online course. The CPC Certification Prep Course teaches fundamental medical coding skills for professional services (physicians, mid-level providers, etc.) and prepares you to take AAPC’s CPC exam. The course covers CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM coding with hands-on practice coding real-world, redacted medical records using CPT®, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS Level II code sets. Assures a broad knowledge in reviewing and assigning the correct procedure and diagnosis codes for physician services. The prerequisites include Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy. Work experience or healthcare courses may satisfy the prerequisites. 80 contact hours.

Forklift Operator – $200

This OSHA-compliant course meets the certification needs of the beginning forklift student and expert operator. The 2-day, in-person course includes classroom instruction and supervised lift-truck operations. Learn how to move with and without a load, picking up and stacking a load, and much more.

Phlebotomy – $799

Join our 12-week Saturday course, which includes classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience in an area hospital lab. This course is designed to train you in phlebotomy duties such as drawing blood and performing basic point-of-care testing. The course prepares you to sit for the national certification exam. Tuition includes books, supplies, clinical training, and the certification exam.
